Home Inspection Standards of Practice
A home inspection is a non-invasive, visual examination of the accessible areas of a residential property, performed for a fee, which is designed to identify defects within specific systems and components defined by these Standards that are both observed and deemed material by the inspector. Review the full standards of practice in detail at the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors.
Commercial Inspection Standards of Practice
A commercial property is defined as the building structures and improvements located on a parcel of commercial real estate. These may include structures such as buildings with residential units operated for profit, mixed-use buildings, strip malls, motels, factories, storage facilities, restaurants and office buildings. The International Association of Certified Home Inspectors promotes these Standards in collaboration with its sister organization, the Certified Commercial Property Inspectors Association.
